Fitted Sheet Size Guide UAE: Measure Mattress Depth Before You Buy
Fitted Sheet Size Guide UAE: Measure Mattress Depth Before You Buy
A fitted sheet needs to match three measurements: width, length and the height of everything underneath it. The size name on its own is not enough.
The detail that changes the decision
DrSleeep’s current Bamboo Fitted Sheet Set lists Queen at 150 × 200 + 30 cm, King at 180 × 205 + 40 cm, and Super King at 205 × 205 + 40 cm. The final number is the listed depth. A Queen option therefore does not have the same depth specification as a King option in this range.
Read the complete selected variant rather than assuming that every colour, size or product image describes the same fit. These are DrSleeep’s listed dimensions, not a universal UAE size standard.
1. Measure the mattress, not the bed frame
Remove the sheet and measure straight across the mattress from side to side, then from head to foot. Write the figures in centimetres. Do not include the frame, headboard or an overhanging duvet.
A bed called “King” by one retailer may have different measurements from another. For example, if your mattress measures 180 × 200 cm, DrSleeep’s listed 180 × 205 cm King sheet is not an exact dimensional match. Ask for fit confirmation before ordering rather than assuming the extra length will disappear.
2. Include the layers that will sit under the sheet
Leave your usual topper, pad or protector in place. Measure vertically from the bottom of the mattress to the top of the complete sleeping surface, without pressing it flat. Check more than one point if the surface is rounded.
As a worked example, a 27 cm mattress plus a 5 cm topper makes a stack about 32 cm high. That exceeds a listed 30 cm depth. Do not choose the 30 cm option on the assumption that the elastic will compensate. This is a measuring example, not an in-house fit test.
Depth also needs to allow the sheet’s construction to sit securely underneath. If your measured stack is close to the listed limit, confirm the intended fit with DrSleeep. There is no verified universal extra allowance for every sheet in this guide.
What the original DrSleeep demonstration shows
In Dr. Nada Al Mulla’s original bed-making footage, the quilted mattress layer is visible before the finished bed. It makes a practical point: the surface under your fitted sheet may include more than the mattress alone. Measure with your own usual layers in place.
The video is a visual example of bedding layers. It does not measure pocket depth or prove that a particular sheet fits a particular mattress. We do not use the older video’s health or antibacterial statements as product evidence.
Selected moment around 02:59; starts muted. Observe the quilted layer, not a sizing test.
3. Match all three numbers
Use the current DrSleeep options below as a product-specific checklist. Match width and length first, then check the listed depth against your mattress and layers. Choosing a larger bed size just to get a deeper pocket can leave excess fabric across the top.
99 × 190 + 40 cm
150 × 200 + 30 cm
180 × 205 + 40 cm
205 × 205 + 40 cm
The set is listed as one fitted sheet and two pillowcases, made from 100% bamboo-derived viscose. Check the selected product details for pillowcase dimensions and colour availability; they are not inferred from the bed-size label.
4. Check the fit without forcing it
Once you have confirmed dimensions, position the corners and work around the bed evenly. The elastic edge should sit underneath rather than balancing on the side. If a corner repeatedly lifts, recheck orientation, width, length and the total layer height before buying straps or pulling harder.
Excess fabric does not always mean the pocket is too deep; it may be a width or length mismatch. Likewise, a tight corner does not by itself identify the cause. Keep the packaging and follow the store’s applicable return conditions when assessing a new purchase.

View product detailsQuick answers before ordering
Will a 30 cm sheet fit a 30 cm mattress?
Do not assume an exact limit guarantees fit. Check whether the stated depth is the intended maximum mattress height and whether your topper or pad increases the total. Confirm a borderline fit before purchase.
Does a 40 cm pocket make a sheet fit any King mattress?
No. Width and length must also match. A deeper pocket cannot correct a different mattress footprint.
Can I use the same measurements after adding a topper?
Measure again. The mattress footprint may stay the same while the total depth changes.
What should I send DrSleeep if I am unsure?
Send the mattress width, length and total depth in centimetres, plus the exact sheet option you are considering. Mention any topper or pad. Those details are more useful than the word “King” alone.
